🔗 Share this article The Streaming Giant Chooses Spot-On Performer for Bon Clay in One Piece Season 3 Baroque Works is poised to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, though the real showdown won’t unfold until the next season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has now been chosen. Netflix announced this week that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will portray Mr. 2. Bon Clay has the ability to morph into an exact copy of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their dominant hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will portray a rendition of that character reimagined as non-binary, instead of as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the initial comic and animated series. The new cast member will work alongside several other recently announced actors set to bring Baroque Works to the screen, featuring chief the main antagonist, played by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who also joins the lineup as the monarch of the fictional land. Although Bon Clay is a key figure of the organization, the character won’t appear until One Piece the third season. With season 2 likely to portray the Little Garden storyline, this signals a major departure in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could suggest further changes to the plot development. Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the role. In addition to their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for penning and acting in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles. The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is set to return for its second season on March 10, 2026.
