In the audience are Anna and Jonathan Cordiner, whose daughter died of a brain cancer, and who set up a charity, a charity called Kayleigh's Wee Stars, to support families who have a youngster facing a life-limiting condition. "Your efforts, love, and understanding, often quietly and unspoken, and without any expectation or recognition, make an profound impact to the lives of others," wrote Catherine in a note prior to the concert. A Gradual Return The Princess of Wales is continuing her own gradual return to the public eye after her cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy, last month delivering her initial major address in two years, in which she talked about recognising the "discreet, frequently unseen labour of caregivers". Musical Talent and Access Attendees entering the Abbey can listen to budding artists supported by the Future Talent charity, set up with the help of the late Duchess of Kent to increase availability of music lessons. An 18-year-old named Carys Wood, who performs on the trumpet and is from southwest Wales, has been assisted by the organisation, with funding assisting with instruments, tuition, and transportation expenses - and she said it was "amazing" to be playing at the evening's event. "Pursuing music is often costly," Carys said. She is now enrolled at the prestigious music academy, and added that "everyone should have the opportunity" to cultivate their performance abilities. A Sisterly Duo Carys's 11-year-old sister, Eliza, who is a euphonium player, will be present at the Abbey. "I never thought I'd be able to play there in front of so many important people," she said. Within the audience will be people from various age groups. That will feature Saphia Turner, aged nine, winner of a youth community award, who produces drawings and undertakes charity feats to collect donations for local food charities. Festive Decor and Performances The Abbey has been decorated with custom-created holiday decorations, with well-known chef Mary Berry and flower expert Simon Lycett contributing to their design. The musical lineup includes Katie Melua, choristers from Westminster Abbey and a maritime folk band from Cornwall, the group Fisherman's Friends, who said the chance to take part was "a dream come true." The Together at Christmas carol concert will be broadcast on ITV1 on Christmas Eve.
