New information has come to light regarding the shocking deaths of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday.

The Discovery

A source indicates referencing a person close to the family, a massage therapist scheduled for an appointment first raised the alarm after not being able to enter the home. This individual then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.

When she went into the house, Romy found her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Another individual who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Following this, paramedics found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Developments

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, along with the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently detained and denied bail.

Disputed Reports

The person close to the family also disputed several previously reported details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that time.

Additionally refuted published suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's conduct in recent weeks. Rather the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement applies to descriptions of reportedly "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. While the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they asserted that suggestions of a "blow-up" between the two were not correct.

Ongoing Inquiry Timeline

As stated by law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the residence. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not received medical clearance and would be unable to attend until Wednesday or later.
