Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched strikes across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone in the area of the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the US has remained silent.

Missile Defenses Activated

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the government.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted debris fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
